Scotland uses the Food Standards Agency's separate Food Hygiene Information Scheme (FHIS) — a pass/fail scheme rather than the 0–5 star scale. Of 46,272 assessed food businesses across 32 local authorities, 92.6% pass and 503 hold the Eat Safe award. Data as of 2026-06-12.
